There are two common ways to save energy: adopting energy efficient habits and using energy efficient products. Making simple behavior changes at home is a simple no cost energy efficiency improvement and a great place to start. Small habits make a big difference! Adopting habits as simple as unplugging electronics when not in use or turning off the lights when you leave the room made a difference. Encourage your family members and friends to make energy efficiency behavior changes to increase our energy savings!

Energy efficiency improvements reduce your energy use, while maintaining the comfort of your home. There are a variety of energy efficiency improvements you can make today to start saving energy. Low cost improvements like replacing the seal on your refrigerator, replacing incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient CFLs or installing weather-stripping underneath your doors are easy places to start. You can invest in long-term energy efficiency savings when you purchase energy efficient appliances and products. Look for the ENERGY STAR logo on appliances and electronics to save energy. ENERGY STAR qualified products use 20 to 30% less energy and can save you as much as $200 a year. For example, replacing a refrigerator from the 1970s with an ENERGY STAR refrigerator will save you $200 a year.[3]

Use the conservation tips provided to adopt energy efficient behaviors and make improvements to reduce your energy use and save 10%!
